This was a wet, wet time in Alaska. We don't deal with ice like this in Alaska on a regular day. It was on there like super glue.
Don't let Chuck's outfit confuse you. It was cold enough for a coat. And he's crazy not to have on gloves while scraping all this ice. It took him like 20 minutes to get it all off. He's hands were numb afterward.

Chuck is BRAVE. No way would I scrape any windsheild with no gloves. Honestly, I wouldn't go out without a coat either.
ReplyDeleteIs there ususally not a lot of ice in Alaska? Is the air dryer so there's more...snow I guess? So cold it's warm?
YIKES!!!
ReplyDeleteIf Chuck is like J, he probably claims that wearing a oat and gloves slows him down and makes him sweat. LOL!
ReplyDeleteJ had to scrape ice around the doors of the Subaru- the rain/ice completely froze him out of the car. I was glad I had parked under the carport! Watching someone use a scraper on the painted surfaces of your vehicle- not fun! Luckily the ice was thick enough that the paint was not harmed.
Katie, The air is dry here. Without the moisture in the air, there isn't rain. Plus, it gets so blame cold here whatever could fall as rain turns into snow. Recently we got what they called a heat wave (30 above-ish)and with it came rain, which immediately turned to sleet because of the temps and caused all the ice....tune in anytime Moose Nugget if you can explain this better. I am no meteorologist.
ReplyDeleteChuck used the ice scraper on the truck door too! I said, "WHAA?? Stop!" But, of course, it didn't hurt it. Strange, strange world we live in.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Chuck be crazy pants with no coat or gloves. What about using a hair dryer? I don't know!
ReplyDeleteHey I never thought of that! good idea sister. But it rarely ever happens and would involve a lot of cords, so not likely to happen. But it's a good tip anyway. Thanks for nothin'.
ReplyDeleteJust kiddin'
Sure sure.. I think they probably even make heated ones of those ice scraper thingy's that you can plug into the lighter thing.
