To Clear Up Any Misconceptions You May Have Had Regarding Collinsville Trade Day
They sell WAY more than just socks, used DVD's, rusty chains,
and faulty cell phone chargers.
They have a website now. Fancy schmancy!
You will not be the best dressed person there.
They sell personalized pet tags for $2.00 and they will last a whole heck of a lot longer than those cheapos at Petco.
They sell single apples (I know. This is an important one.)
Not everyone calls it "The Flea Market" anymore. Through the years, "The Flea Market" faded from my vocabulary, most likely because I never understood the term.
For the record, there are WAY too many theories about why this type of market is often called a Flea Market on google.
To Confirm Any Ideas You May Have Had Regarding Collinsville Trade Day
The bathrooms are in fact, pretty disgusting.
The market is located in Northeast Alabama about 40 minutes from here.
It's a pretty popular place.
Raisin Bran and I decided Collinsville Trade Day would be a great way
to spend our Saturday morning.
I was shocked to stumble on this little stand.
And this one blew me away! It was very shabby chic. Not very trade dayish.
I couldn't believe it.
Thanks to the 'ol cheapskate, "no you DO NOT need another stuffed animal Mama", Raisin Bran still had a little cash left over from her birthday. Her birthday was 6 months ago.
Ok. I've been latched onto it like it was solid gold.
ANYways, having a little money to spend makes trade Day SO much more fun.
Raisin Bran's money spent:
$4.00 Glass Butterfly necklace (from the store featured above)
$2.00 Bow
1 single apple
$4.00 for a miscellaneous bag of jewelry (money well spent)
Loved this dress. It was only $8.00, though it seemed to be designed for a rather small but busty child, so I declined.
Waiting in line for lunch. Raisin Bran loves her some BBQ sandwiches.
Another one of many lunch options.
Isn't it neat how there are all kinds of people in this world?
You can find SO many at Trade Day.
I love it.
I love it.
I love trade day. LOVE. it. I am usually drawn to the junk piles and I will inevitably request the price for the one piece of scrap metal that is not for sale. If I walk away from trade day without buying anything I feel pretty defeated. Though on this particular day spending Raisin Bran's money was enough for me. Hey, I deserved to get a little joy out of sorting through that bag full of jewelry odds and ends after holding onto that cash for so long.
I want to go back again soon. I'd love to take more photos. We didn't make it up to Coon Dog Hill where they sell the ducks, goats, pigs, dogs, and chickens. I got a little disoriented and couldn't find it. Yeah. I want to think they did away with Coon Dog Hill all together because it's normally located in a pretty obvious place. Also, Trade Day seemed smaller. Or maybe I never had to look beyond the rows of merchandise before and actually navigate since Chuck is normally with me. Maybe that.
Sounds Wonderful!!!!
