While this is nice...
I am sooooo ready to say good-bye to Summer.
Because the living is not easy when you are a
pregnant woman and you can't walk to the car and back without breaking a sweat.
And the wasps are mean as h-e-l-l
(it's not cussing if you spell it out)
Chuck's approach to tackling the mean things is to spray them and get the heck out of dodge.
I however take a different approach.
I attack each wasp individually with whatever I can find, smashing them flat, telling them all the while, "This is MY house! This is not your house! You stupid, stupid, mean, stinging thing."
It's kind of psycho.
Oh and the mosquitoes! They keep us holed up in the house like prisoners.
They lay into Chuck and Charley like they're raw meat.
The unpredictable flight of the horsefly keeps the whole family freaked.
They slam their bodies into my car like they want to tear my head off.
I feel like I'm in Alfred Hitchcock's movie, The Birds.

Oh and the BITING FLIES,
son of a...
son of a...
well they make me want to cuss in front of the kid.
They are relentless.
You can't understand what drives them to bite the fire out of your ankles but they keep coming.
No amount of shooing or swatting will deter their attack.

And sure, I'll miss the dragonflies and butterflies.
But I welcome the frost that will kill those other pests.
And plus I just LOVE fall.
It's my favorite season.
Are ya'll ready for fall?

Dang. Those bugs sound pretty awful. We have them in LA, but not nearly that bad. Yes, I'm ready for fall. I just hope we take our time and enjoy every part of it and not jump straight to Christmas. I don't like when the stores try to get you to spend money by jumping straight into Christmas music right after Halloween and waaaaaayyyy before Thanksgiving. Although I DO love Christmas music and always enjoy hearing it anyway.
ReplyDeleteWhat are y'all gonna be for Halloween???
I don't know if we will dress up. Somehow it seems silly now. Something about having kids and then dressing up ourselves. If we had somewhere to go we would but not costume party invites yet. I am hoping Charley will be a cheetah 'cause I done got the stuff for it.
DeleteI am ready for landscapes of multicolored leaves in the trees and on the ground. The cold however, I am not looking forward to...at all!
