Inspired by this sweet little thing I found on Pinterest,
Charley and I went after an old Mac monitor.
We didn't start out with a hammer.
We started out with a solid plan.
Three solid plans actually.
Charley worked them all out herself.
She even had a backup plan.
But I tell ya, Mac monitors aren't made with traditional hardware.
It was like Fort Knox ya'll.
In the end, I determined, busting glass with a hammer, even with safety glasses on, is not a kid friendly activity. I let her take apart a broken, instant camera instead. I don't have any photos but she turned it into periscope out of some paper towel and toilet paper rolls.
We have a lot of cardboard roll-less paper around these parts now.
We've always kept an invention box around.
Our invention box contents change a lot.
I'd say the box is one of Charley's most used toys.
Give her some rubber bands, glue, and doo dads and she's content for a while.
Invention Box....get you one
Great idea. Kid's going to be a genius. You're a great mom. I LOVE the plan especially the "bacop" plan.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAH BACOP PLAN! Amazing! Very good planning by Charles, there. You can really see the detail in every step. Cogeian was allowed to take apart an old Mac laptop a long time ago, too. Those things are weird inside. Be careful because there are some very toxic parts of the insides of certain electronics that no one should touch. Of course I made a huge deal about it back then, but it all went okay. Look them up... Also, LOVE the invention box! That's genius. Where do you come up with all these really easy, but great kid ideas?? You're good at this.
ReplyDeleteCharley is like a modern-day version of McGyver, right? LOLOLOL
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
