Our little wild one absolutely loves the animals on display at Bass Pro Shop, and runs excitedly around pointing each one out. She is however, a conservationist, and commented that she hoped the animals were eaten and not just killed for display purposes.

| Charley would absolutely not go see Santa. I believe she finds it uncomfortable, unsettling, and unnecessary. Also she found the line was too long. For the last couple of years she has refused to sit in Santa's lap. Not even when we traveled to North Pole, Alaska did she sit in Santa's lap. Though, this year, she found herself first in line at the Mathews Visitor Center when Santa was on the porch accepting requests. I think she more or less felt obligated to be polite so she sat down, but then promptly abandoned all her manners and began to stare directly at Santa's face without saying any words. By the time I figured out she was sitting there silently smiling and staring, WAY too much time had passed. It went way beyond awkward for Santa I'm afraid. She was trying to figure him out. Looking over that beard, examining the pores in his face, getting a feel for his suspiciously soft belly, taking in the smell of his breath. Poor Santa. Anyway, she ended up in the Gloucester/Mathews Gazette and now she thinks she's even MORE famous than she was before.  |
Love this post Hayley. I missed you all so much during Christmas. The Santa/Charley pic is great. I almost feel I was there in the Bass Pro with you seeing Charley run around in awe of the animals. Busch Gardens is my favorite though.
