My cousin recently tied the knot.
When it occurred to me that both the bride and the groom's names begin with J, I knew I wanted to make something for them featuring their initials. I was inspired by this photo I found on Pinterest.
Source Chuck reluctantly helped me get a pallet from the free pile and we hauled it home. He also let me mark off where I wanted my cuts made and came in with the skill saw. Now, let me just say, the skill saw actually belongs to me....it was a gift from Chuck...I just want to be clear on that. He was only making the cuts because I just don't believe skill saws and pregnancy mix, for me. My balance is off, my belly often blocks my view, and I'm just not taking any chances. |
These photos are terrible. I was moving at the time and could not find anywhere to prop these up.
I sanded the pieces down really good and pieced
them together on the backsides using metal brackets.
I was really proud of how they turned out. When I give a gift, I usually try to match it to the recipient but I haven't gotten to know my new cousin well enough yet to know if rustic is her style...but whatcha gonna do? All I know is, I want a set for myself.
