Charley's Girl Scout Division threw a Fairy Tale Ball recently. Of course, Charley opted to forgo the traditional Fairy Tale costume and transformed herself into her current, favorite movie character.
Mavis of Hotel Transylvania

It is a very cute movie.
Her Daddy was good enough to escort her as Dracula, Mavis' Dad.
The day prior, Chuck and I scoured the stores in search of a suitable Mavis costume. Charley advised me that I should look for "red tights with black stripes" as opposed to "black tights with red stripes." Unable to find either, Chuck and I settled for black tights with red duck tape stripes. Charley was totally cool with this idea.
Her wig was labeled as "flapper girl" and was pretty perfect, but at the last minute I decided to take the scissors to it. It could have easily been a disaster, but it turned out ok!
I think we achieved Mavis' pointed bangs look.
Reportedly Charley ran around and played tag the whole time and Chuck watched.
The kid was happy.
I felt accomplished just putting together the costume and getting her ready for such an anticipated event just 10 days postpartum.
No small feat.
Little things in a child's life count big time, so I considered this night a success.
Now 'scuse me while I go pat my and Chuck's back some more.
Charley looks so cool! I'll bet she was the coolest kid there in fact. The costume looks great. Idk if I could put this together at all, much less ten days after I have a baby. You both definitely deserve a pat on the back.

ReplyDeleteCharley is very special! I mean that in the best sense of the word. Great pics Hayley. Love this blog. Chuck is so great to go along on all the "adventures." Charley will remember him in a very special way forever. Good stuff.
