I may have been a little quick on the draw when I used
words like "sweet" and "good" to describe this baby.
Yeah.
Maybe I rushed that.
Yeah.
Maybe I rushed that.
I mean I still like her and all but.....
No. Really. She's a good baby.
70, no 60% of the time.
65%!
Yeah. 65 percent.
And the other 35% of the time, it's not like she's a bad baby.
No.
There are no such things as bad babies.
I don't know though....I'll have to tell you about Charley's infancy sometime.
Let's just say, I'm lucky I'm not wearing a straight jacket right now.
It was ROUGH, I say.
This baby, Bo, she isn't terribly fussy, but I've noticed the longer she stays with us, the more comfortable (read: louder) she gets with her bellowing. There are times when there is absolutely nothing more I can do for her, and still, she yammers on.
She seems to be fighting sleep.
Already.
I guess that's what babies do though.
Right?
You see, I wasn't conditioned properly with Charley since her colic induced cries were incessant.
Charley developed a reputation early on....in the NICU stage.
She was known as the baby you did NOT disturb.
When I brought her home, I tiptoed around her like she was a hornet's nest.
People said, "Oh just go about business as usual, wash those dishes, slam that pantry, beat on those pots and pans. That baby will get used to the noise." But I'll tell you, those people were wrong.
Once Charley was asleep people (me) hit their knees to thank Jesus.
"Please God, help me be a good mother when she wakes up...please God."
(hands folded, looking to heaven)
We took extreme measures to keep her comfortable and quite.
I mean, once Chuck and I were in the car,
and I jumped out of the still rolling vehicle to go to the bathroom.
And you wouldn't dare think of shutting the door behind you.
Once I peed in a cup.
Once I peed in a bag. A WAL-MART shopping bag ya'll.
With Bo, I feel more comfortable moving about, allowing Charley to be a kid (though I still can't tolerate shocking noises, like dropped garbage can lids or spontaneous table drumming).
All in all, I think we are adapting to our new world pretty well.
Oh by the way, Charley's goth now.
Yeah
Wow I hope Bo is a little more cooperative than Charley was. I know you had a hard time with that. VERY cute pics, btw. And good that Charley is getting her goth phase out if the way early.
