I have some strong opinions. 

When I really love a product, I want people to know about it. 

And because I am the mother of a newborn, I've handled a lot of products lately. 

You know how much new stuff you need for a little baby right?

After a 7 year hiatus from baby gear, I was not only eager to learn what was new on the market, but what worked. And because I think this is true for a lot of moms, I am going to start telling you about the stuff I like. And I'll tell you why I like this stuff. I'll even post a link so that, if you feel so inclined after you read my incredibly informative review, you can buy you some stuff of your own. And sure, I hope to earn a few cents, (It may literally be only cents. I'm still very new at this.) but I will never, ever, never, ever, ever, steer you to a product that I do not love. 

So let's begin shall we? 

To me, baby carriers just make sense. Why not wrap Bo up and attach her to my body? 

She's always there anyway. 

Babies love being swaddled close to Mama, and oftentimes, Mama's need their hands free.   

But here's the thing, I have lotsa baby carriers. 

I even have a Baby Bjorn! Though it's at least 10 years old and looking pretty faded and ragged.

 After all these years the straps look very flimsy and I don't trust them. 

I also have two other types of strappy carriers. 

One I like ok, but I think it will be better when she's older. 

And the other carrier is just too cheap looking to trust. 

I have TWO sling type carriers. Every time I tried them, Bo looked like she was folded. 

Your baby's chin should NOT be pushed into her chest when she is in a carrier! 

Try this...take your hands and push the back of your head until your chin rests on your chest. 

Now breathe. 

It isn't easy is it? Plus it's incredibly uncomfortable.   

The bag style slings are not safe for your baby for this very reason. 

Don't use them!

So that's FIVE. FIVE baby carriers I own. 

Albeit, I only paid full price for one of them, (most were gifts and a couple were secondhand purchases), still, I could not justify buying another carrier! 

But I wanted a wrap style carrier, real. bad. 

People have been carrying babies around for 1,000's of years. Literally. THOUSANDS. So I knew I didn't need some new fangled invention to carry my baby. I wanted something simple. But in the absence of a fabric store or an Aboriginal woman to teach me how to carry my baby safely in a wrap, I was scared to just grab a sheet and wrap Baby Bo up. I mean, you can wrap a baby up wrong, you know? 

Bad things happen when you wrap a baby up wrong.  

So the cheapskate in me was wrestling with my options. 

Do I spend $40-50.00 on another carrier? 

Do I travel an hour out of town to find a fabric store, 

figure out which kind of fabric would be best, and just wing it?

Then I went to Charley's school wearing Bo in one of my strappy numbers, and out of the blue, another mother asked if I would to have her Moby Wrap! 

Her kids were too big to be carried and she was saving it for a good home. 

The wrap she described was the exact wrap I had hoped to purchase!! 

Weird huh? 

So I say, "Yes, yes, yes, yada yada, yada, thank you, thank you, thank you." 

And now I have the wrap. And I love it. 

Bo loves it too. When I put her inside, she cannot resist a good nap. She falls asleep almost immediately. If I am moving about she falls asleep even quicker. 

I love how the wrap positions the baby up high. 

Think about how you hold a baby. 

Do you hold your baby down low at your belly button? 

No. 

Unless your weird. You might if you are weird. 

You hold your baby up higher, on your chest. Especially newborns. 

This carrier allows the baby to be close enough to continually check her positioning and breathing. 

Not like those slings where you just feel like you are 

carrying around some random piece of cargo at your hip.  

I love how this carrier grows with your baby.

While Bo is still not in control of her little wobbly head, I keep her close and tightly bound, but when she's older I can use the wrap so that she can ride on my hip with her noggin out so she can see the world around her. 

Now bear in mind that this is a wrap style carrier which means the fabric is long. It takes some practice to learn to secure it to your body, but it's nothing you can't handle. The Moby website has several instructional videos to help you out. I've got it down pat, and can even slide Bo in and out way easier than I ever could in the strappy carriers.
