I figure I better wrap up Thanksgiving because we are WELL into Christmas festivities 'round here.
I only have a couple of things to share.
The camera got very little use this Thanksgiving.
This is Charley's scarecrow.
She really wanted to make one and I was all like, uggggggggggggg.
I mean, I just knew I'd end up doing most of the
work and then the scarecrow wouldn't even stand up right.
But something miraculous happened.
Charley took the reigns.
She gathered the materials and just started piecing him together.
She even thought to use pine straw to stuff him with.
So what did I learn?
I learned to be really reluctant to do certain activities
and to vocalize that in a voice that is considered a whine.
No, no. That's not right.
Though I think it is certainly ok to tell your kids that you're happy
to help them build a scarecrow, but you don't want to build a scarecrow.
Good things can happen.
On Thanksgiving morning Charley was inspired by the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and just had to have my old Golden Hawk majorette uniform and batons. She added the skirt because she felt too exposed without it. Made me feel like a real tramp....I mean, I was running up and down the football field twirling fire in that thing.
YES, that's our Christmas tree up on Thanksgiving, and YES, it really bothers all us to do that, but we're going home for Christmas and wanted to enjoy the tree before we left.
Sue us. Just sue my whole family.
A couple of good friends welcomed us into their home for a big Thanksgiving meal.
Friends sure are great, especially when you are far from home during the holidays.
Hey, and we played a card game called Spoons.
Have you ever played?
It's a really, really, really, fun game.
I am bring it to Bama with me.

Thank you! Merry Christmas to you too!
DeleteWhoa that's your old majorette uniform alright. It honestly seems like last year you were wearing it. I can't believe we are grown ups now. Anyhow Charley looks very cute in it. PS that scarecrow's shirt looks familiar. Oh yes. That's because it was mine. Bought it in Beverly Hills for not cheap. But the scarecrow can wear it that's cool
ReplyDeleteIt was under the porch's roof so not exposed to the rain. I love that shirt. One of my favorites.
