On a cold and windy day in March, we decided to go exploring. We took the Jamestown - Scotland Ferry to a very small town called Surry. Shockingly, the ferry ride was free.
Charley was a nervous wreck. For some reason she was incredibly afraid we were going to sink or tip. I guess something just didn't feel right about driving cars onto a boat.
You can see her crazy impatience with me in all the photos.
But aren't the colors beautiful?
And a side note...this was the very first time I successfully French braided Charley's hair.
I know I should be ashamed but I'm proud!
Through all these years, I was convinced I had the idea right but the execution wrong, until one day (this day) I tried a different method and it worked!
And who is this guy? Why is he so well dressed? Why does he scare me?
It was a short trip but fun.
Here you see me lagging behind and stressing Charley.
Once in Surry we found it to be small. Incredibly small.
We went to a quaint shop and bought some ham and cheese straws then we had lunch.
It was a good day and a good way to entertain/scare the family.

That sounds like a nice little adventure. I totally know how Charley feels and have sympathy for her.
