Oh, forgot to mention I absolutely loved waking up to the sun rising over the misty river this morning. It was beautiful and reminded me of being a teenager here in this house. When I lived here, it never occurred to me that I would look back on those times in a nostalgic kind of way. In my view, at the time, I only had one childhood home and that was on Pleasant Valley. We had left that one behind many years prior. But coming here feels like coming home. It’s easy.
One thing that is missing it that ladder leading to my bedroom window; which is probably for the best wouldn’t ya say?
Wow, you are reeeeeeeaaally not supposed to mention the ladder in public. Also, your description of the sunrise leads me to believe you are sleeping on your old bed which is now in my room. Is this accurate? Am I correct in this assumption? That bed is very lumpy. You can have it back. I'd also like my back.. back. Theeenks.
ReplyDeleteYeah, much to my surprise, Mom JUST found out about that ladder when she read it on my blog...while she was sitting next to me on the couch. I REALLY thought she knew already and did not expect to be faced with questions and disappointed/angry/worried expressions. SO, I told her it was your ladder and your boyfriends used it to climb up and they always woke me up from my precious angel sleep as they stumbled drunkenly from my room to yours. Sorry. She was sitting right here beside me and I was scared. You understand, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteAbout the bedroom:
Yep, good detective work, and by detective work I mean knowing your east from your west. But still...impressive.
Well I guess the fact that you are both discussing this on the internet means that neither of you fear getting grounded anymore.
ReplyDeleteYes, the sunrise/TBN/posters of Jesus=Sunny's room, the sunset/peach schnapps/boys=Hayley's room is pretty crystal clear in my memory. But for the record, I'm still completely UNclear on Gadsden's geography. In my childlike, innocent brain, it's like a big marriage between 77 and Rainbow Drive and every other street showed up to witness it. Jk, jk, I think I've got most of em down. MOSTly.. except over there by church. Once, while making a turn onto that one way street near Dwight, I was informed by David that he felt he needed to get me "a map of Gadsden" sooooo...
ReplyDeleteYeah, sorry, Ma. 'Bout that stuff up there.
Hardly..you may have been writing "I heart Jesus!" on every bulletin board you could find but Elvis was my poster of choice....with a little peach schnapps in the closet.
