This morning I told Chuck, "Well, I guess we'll see you next week." Ahhhhhhhh!
Next week we are moving to Alaska. I am scared. Really, I am more anxious/nervous than scared. Since I tend to become anxious about most anything outside of my comfort zone and since moving to Alaska is WAY out of the norm for me, I would consider myself to be double anxious. Yes, double.
My days in Alabama are actually numbered now. I have to buckle down and get to visiting with the family members I don't see on a regular basis. I have to make some play dates with Charley's best friend. I've got to figure out who's truck I am going to borrow to get My Friend to the airport. I have to take My Friend to the vet and give him a bath. I have to wash the car I've been borrowing and give it back. I have to print my itinerary. I have to finish my sewing project. I have to mail some more boxes. I have to sell my bicycle, Little Miss Muffet's bicycle, Little Miss Muffet's trailer bike, a sectional sofa, and coffee table. I have to throw up.

It will be alright Hayley. I flew with you when you were pregnant and we flew together when Charley was a few months old. You will be fine. Don't get wimpy on me now. Moms raise their babies to be strong and live their dreams. You and Chuck are doing that and I am proud of you for it. Now fly darlin fly. I'll visit you soon. You know I will.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mom.
ReplyDeleteGosh..only one week to go, huh? Don't be anxious (I can say that bc its not me going thru this big change or dealing with all the issues ..) but just think..one week and your little family will be together again. That's EXCITING ! A whole new adventure. Living out your dreams, like your Mom said. You've got peace about this..don't let anxiety or nervousness or fear creep in. Roll with it. You're only one week away from the adventure of a lifetime.. not all of us can say that..frankly, I envy it. Will be sending some prayers up for you as you say your goodbyes or "cya later's " and prayers for safe travels.
ReplyDeleteI'm pumped now Tiki! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHang in there Hayley - stay positive and get all that stuff done (minus throwing up) so you & Charley can get up there to AK with Chuck. You all are in my prayers every day!
ReplyDeleteLove you Phyllis. How is Guy? I know. I know. I can't believe it either. Give Guy Guy and Big Mama a hug for me.
ReplyDeletePhyllis, that is good to hear. Pray I will be calm.
ReplyDeleteSo excited for you!! We've been here 3 weeks now and loving it...and guess what...looks like we are going to wind up right down the road from you!! Eric got a job offer from the contractor, so we get to relocate to Fairbanks so he can work there and at Ft Greely. I've been checking out Delta Junction, just in case ;-)
ReplyDeleteYAY Missy! Do you think we can actually get together in Alaska even if we couldn't make it happen here in Alabama? I've been keeping up with your blog! And I've been trying to keep up with your facebook posts and photos. Good stuff.
ReplyDeleteAwwww, no worries Hayley. Your family is forever, even when you don't see them all the time. Live out your dreams like your mom said. (heh...she sounds like my mom.)
ReplyDeleteI can't WAIT to read about your Alaska adventures!
You people are so full of confidence boosting wisdom. Thanks Katie.
ReplyDeleteWell... You remember what Ma and Dad used to say when we were sceered, worried, or if our left arm was swinging by a tendon? "You'll be aaiyght". I think that's what it was usually, but the good thing is that Ma has grown past her tough love stage (now that we are big, scary Amazons), and she is a softy now. She wants you to be brave and happy. Me, too. Also, I think I just got cream cheese in my right eye.
ReplyDeleteOMG!! Where in the world do you and Hayley come up with this creative chit chat? Do you remember the pull up your bootstraps phrase I used to say to you both? I couldn't stand either one of you crying or whining. First of all it hurts me when you hurt. Second of all I don't like to hurt so shut up and do something but don't whine and don't cry. Give me a break!!! Alright I'm not very sympathetic. "Cream chees in your right eye." My goodness Sunny that clorox you drank with Hayley's shoe strings in it when you were 3 did something to your brain didn't it? Hayley that light fixture falling on your head messed you up..........Who in their right mind goes to durn Alaska???? Just kidding just kidding.
ReplyDeleteYep sister. I remember. Craig was telling me to go get an antibiotic the other day and I was like, "get a antiwhat?" Mom, that's how Sunny balances her soft side with her "Amazon" hard core feelings. She says something sweet, then follows with something unrelated and funny. You and Dad are to blame.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about that bootstraps thing. What was it in its entirety? AND, I wouldn't know if that light fixture damaged my brain BECAUSE YOU NEVER TOOK ME TO THE DOCTOR!
Hahahhaahahaa!! This is a funny crazy pants conversation.
ReplyDeleteWow Hayley, your family has me giggling at the computer! I will tune in to this blog daily now to get my daily dose. lol Keep em coming!
ReplyDeleteYay! I have a fan!
ReplyDeleteHeather it's sad when a mother and two daughter's have to communicate via blog because they are all in 3 different corners of the earth. I like this blog also. I enjoy reading a couple of other blogs from people who went to Alaska. It just seems so foreign and maybe a little romantic. It is very interesting why people do what they do and how they do it. Thanks for reading.
