Chuck fishing on the Clearwater River.
"I caught some nice grayling but failed to get photos."
Sure, whatever Chuck.
But let's talk about the elephant in the room.
MAN, he's burly.
And SO handsome.
Hahahahahahaha.
Ok, focus beyond the beard Hayley.
He says, " This is the fish I was telling Charley about; the one that had eaten
all those snails. It's called an Arctic char."
Charley is expecting to receive those snails' shells via USPS. IF he can get the dead fish stench off of them.
Where Chuck caught the Arctic char
A rainbow trout he caught back when the lakes were frozen
Where the Clearwater meets the Tanana River (where you put your life jacket on)
From a previous post..."The Tanana is filled with silt and if you go overboard without a life jacket the silt quickly fills any available space in your clothing and pulls you down like lead. The silt makes the water look like light gray milk."

Wow, Chuck is lookin very mountain man-ish! I think he should keep this look right up until he can't take the family comments any longer. And there will be a few. Thousand.
ReplyDeleteI know he wants to come home and he misses y'all lots, but I get the feelin he's gonna miss this Alaska fishin, too.
Nice pictures!
ReplyDeletemy husband was born in Fairbanks and he lost a friend due to drowning in the river because of the silt. body was never recovered :(
I think by the time your husband gets home he's going to look like one of those guys from log pickers on the discovery channel. :)
ReplyDelete"few. Thousand." snort, snort
ReplyDeleteThat is terrible Miz Liz. I told Chuck about what you said while I was trying to put the fear in him about the river.
