There are great expanses of the Yukon Territory where cell phone use is not an option. I have to force myself to "not worry" when I am unable to talk with Chuck as frequently as we would like. Yesterday passed without a call. That evening, the pyscho ex-girlfriend side of me (she was buried deep, deep, down) remembered that I could track him down by looking up his credit card charges online! So I did! But, the only problem was, there were no charges. Soooo, in a bit of a nervous rush, I ran to the car in the rain and lightning to get my credit card, mumbling prayers all the while. Then I called the credit card company directly. According to the customer service rep, the charges hadn't posted online yet because they were pending. (And oh boy, were there some pending charges piling up.) Whew. Chuck was on his way and making good time. At that time, he was in Coal River. He was 935 miles in.
Today's Progress
Chuck was able to call with an update earlier in the day and man oh man, he is a determined traveler. After leaving Delta Junction at the end of a work day on Wednesday, July 13th, he's already enjoying gravy and fries in Dawson Creek! So far, he's accumulated 1388 miles on his $800.00 new set of tires! Keep 'em hot Chuck!!
To put it into perspective:
The US is approximately 1780 miles wide at its widest north-south point.
(North Dakota to Brownsville, TX)
Chuck's traveled 1388 thus far.
Hayley, that's interesting! Good thinking to track the credit card. It looks like he's about one third of the way home. Wow, that's alot of truckin!!! Best wishes to all!

Man Chuck's truck must be in great shape to keep up with all of this miliage! There should be frequent driving miles, like frequent flyer miles. You guys would be ranking up there!
