I wore it a lot while I was pg.
( pg: How my mother-in-law indicates pregnancy, usually in a hushed whisper.)
After giving birth, I was suddenly aware that it was way too short for a long skirt.
Think this sudden realization had something to do with being able to see my feet again?
Gosh, I wonder who all I grossed out by unknowingly exposing my pregnant/bloated ankles?
You know what you people can do RIGHT??
Look away.
That's right. Just. look. away. if it bothers you so much.
Gosh. Some people.
But I loved the skirt so much, I couldn't bring myself to get rid of it.
But I never wore it.
Sound familiar?
I finally came to my senses and just cut it in half.
What did I have to lose?
(One long, but not long enough skirt, that I never wore.)
Then, I hemmed it, which was pretty easy since the skirt came with built in straight lines (see above).
And now, I love it enough to actually put it on!
Chuck has declared this skirt, paired with a fitted white t-shirt, his "favorite outfit" for me.
Only now, I can never wear it because my Mathews County water has turned all of my white shirts orange.
More on that maddening reality in a future post.

Oh why couldn't we have a pic of the whole you in the whole outfit? I'm so sorry about your water problem. You look so pretty in white. Good job.
ReplyDeleteLove the skirt!! all you need is some CowGirl Boots!!
ReplyDeleteLove it..the pattern is awesome! I might try doing that with one skirt I found thrift storing that I loved until I got it home and realized it hit at that unflattering mid-calf length...and it has built in straight lines, hmmm...I see a project for the rainy day tomorrow forming since today was baking day.
ReplyDeleteThanks ya'll!
ReplyDeleteThat's very cute, sister!!! Wow, you gotta get a water filter thing or something.
