A Fun Space

I've finally finished a room!
Charley's room was the first. You know....'cause they grow up so fast.
So! For the next few days, I plan to show you the room as a whole (today) and then follow up with room details.
I'll show you how to work what ya got!

Charley's Room!
It's very cheerful in here.

The room color was inspired by a boat with one thick, yellow stripe on a white background. It seemed like a happy stripe. Normally I give Charley the room color say in her own room but, I was ready to venture away from pink and purple, and I know one day soon she'll grow tired of the girly, girl colors as well.

She was very pleased with the color choice.
There's enough shots of pink in the room to make her happy.

Her bed has been a challenge.
Initially, I had it banked under the window with narrow walkways on both sides of the bed. But when we received the white, iron bed from my generous Aunt JoAnn, I was disappointed to find that the footboard blocked the closet door from opening. Turning the bed so that it rests against the wall lengthwise, creates a cozy cocoon-like space. Sure, the bed is really hard to makeup this way, but hey! Who makes up their bed anyways? Oh, you do? Well.

Lots of floor space to play. And that's what kids really want....
Room to play. Room to RUN!

Tins from thrift stores make excellent treasure boxes.
We have several.

The way Charley set her little animals up is one of my favorite things about the room. Wonder where they are all going?

Aren't kid's rooms the best?
What color are yours?

Oh, Hayley, what a beautiful job you've done on Charley's room! I'd say she is one lucky gal to have a talented mama giving her such a neat place to hangout. Love the cozy bed nook area and all the different colors used in the room. Aren't tins great? Even our little one year old granddaughter enjoys putting her little farm animal toys into tins while playing. Enjoy your day!

Love, love, love her room. I love the little fairytale door under the window. I am sure she has many stories of who lives in there. It's a great addition for her creative imagination.

What an awesome room! You did a great job. I love it all. You did a great job on the dresser. I can just see her sitting in front of the mirror. Isn't it great to see all your hard work come together?

VERY cute, sister!~ I absolutely love the color combos you chose. They have a vintage-retro feel. I'm sorry the bed didn't fit the way you wanted it, but it actually looks awesome daybed-style. What a perfectly matched bed for that room, too. Thanks, Aunt Jo Ann! Floor space IS important, too. You are right... S'great she has so much of it to romp around on. I'd really love to be a 'lil girl in this room. Good job, sister. She'll make some sweet memories in there.
PS The animal train is adorable. I'm pretty sure they're headin to the Ark. Duh.
