HEY YOU GUYS!!!
We are back in Virginia after an incredibly gratifying vacation in Alabama.
It was great.
So....
I'm gonna go way back now and begin with when
Granna arrived in Virginia for her very FIRST visit with us.
The driveway was a happy place while we were waiting on Granna to pull in.
Awww....
Even My Friend got a little love.
Or rather, My Friend gave a little love.
AND, Sister came too!!!!
I think this photograph represents us well...
the photographer...
the frequently photographed.
I mean it was crazy enough to think we were actually getting to go home for Christmas,
but to have Mom and Sister visit us in Virginia after only 5 months away from home was incredible.
We did all sorts of fun things.
Chuck helped us out with that itinerary, you know.
His actual itinerary (contrary to his pretend itinerary) was good, good stuff.
It included a trip to explore the Riverwalk Landing...
where of course, Sunny steered us to the nearest Starbucks right off the bat.
Then she did her level best to be striking in the photo below.
ShaBAM. Dang strategically placed make-up to make the eyes PIERCE through your soul.
Naw, she doesn't try to shine so bright. She just does, she just does...
We call her Aunt Sunny.
We are both big believers in the use of the word Aunt. Uncle too.
Lotsa happy love floating around here...
I felt kinda bad because I rushed her through this, but there were signs
around that indicated that it was strictly a "Waterman's Museum" activity.
Whatever.
If you haven't noticed, I'm against rules that involve property lines of any kind.
I know it isn't logical, but I can't help it.
And I'm pretty sure Sunny shares my feelings on that because while she was here,
she wished aloud that there be an old house we could "explore and/or loot."
Got that wool pea coat in at It's Bazaar for $25.00!!!
Sunny spotted it for me.
It. has. a. velvet. hood.
I. accidentally. left. it. in. Alabama.
Part of our itinerary was to explore the BEACHES in Mathews.
We hit FOUR of them.
Aren't we lucky here in Mathews?
A lil' cold weather beach picnic on Bethel Beach.
And look at this!
Deer and Beaches.
PREtty cool. PREtty cool.
I took everybody on a windshield tour of Mathews and that led to stopping at several of the local consignment/junk/good stuff shops around.
We also hit up CHRISTMAS TOWN at Busch Gardens which was WONDERFULLY MERRY in every way. I elected not to burden myself with the camera while there.
And we sat around the house eating triscuits & cream cheese.
Chuck provided the meals.
Ok, I don't want to hear it from any judgmental women types.
He WANTED to.
Really.
YAY I love this post, cuz now I've got a little diary of my time there with y'all. It was so fun. I loved being in Virginia at your new place. Very cute and homely.
ReplyDeleteWhatchoo talkin' about sister, you be ShaBAMmin up a storm in these pics, too! You got the biggest bluest eyeballs in the family and you know it you know it. We all look pretty cute together, don't we, now? The Roarin' Four strikes again.
Indeed all of you gals are beautiful! Family is everything and you sure do seem to enjoy your time whenever your together - Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWe had a great time!! I thoroughly enjoyed the tours and getting to see your great new home. I understand not wanting to take your camera into Busch Gardens but did we not get any pictures at all? Didn't Sunny make some with her phone? It was magical and I so wish we had record of it also. Great post Hayley.
ReplyDeleteSo glad everyone got to visit you in Virginia before being able to enjoy the whole family for Christmas. And as always, amazing photos. I am still hung up on the greeting though "Hey You Guys"? I specifically remember two blonde goddesses telling me that we don't say "you guys" we say "Y'all"! Now Sunny has no accent and you're not only saying, but typing "you guys" and I speak like a true southerner! I'm a little shocked at it all, but am setting aside some time next time you come to Alabama to give Y'ALL a speech lesson. :)
ReplyDeleteNica you make me laugh. I remember you saying pop. I'll bet you haven't heard that in a while? BTW do you still say that?
ReplyDeleteLove all these pics!!! I am glad you all had such a great visit & I hope we will get to take a trip to see you one day too:) It looks like you all live in a very pretty area!
ReplyDeleteHayley, I'm catching up on your blog and I just want to say y'all ARE very lucky up there in Matthews! The area looks just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of beautiful, gosh all you ladies are. (I laughed when you said your sister rushed you guys over to the nearest Starbucks because this was me in Hawaii. Hate the coffee, love every other drink, including their twisted lemonade)
You're one lucky family, full of love.
