This kid is funny.
She's funny when she's not even trying.
This is her NOT trying in the photo.
Just hanging out, watching a video, in my cheetah suit and Mexican wrestling mask.
She's funny when she paints pictures like this.
She's funny when she's telling her Daddy how it is.
Sounds just like her mama.
'Course I think I am hilarious.
She's funny when even when it's at my expense.
Mama before Virginia...
And Mama after Virginia...
That's grey/brown hair on top (it's natural thank you), and orange on the bottom.
Orange from our previously iron filled water.
Funny story here (not funny haha, funny I'm going to kill somebody funny)
She's funny when she's says she's just "an old Christian lady trying to go to church" when she's really a bad guy trying to evade cap gunfire.
She's funny when she's telling me stories.
Like when the children's lesson leader said,
"You want hear something funny that Jesus did?"
And Charley was on the edge of her seat, thinking, "Jesus? Funny? This is going to be good."
And then how it turned out to be something just funny/interesting.
She's funny when she's naming her babies and pets.
A snapping turtle Chuck caught to show us: Turtie

Say it out loud. Funny right? Turtie.
That's her NOT trying to be funny again.

(also, that's my dad's name)
Like when she named the Osprey that nests on top of the Gwynn's Island Bridge Fifi II.
Then there's Cutie I. That's Fifi II's mate that flies nearby.
Then there's Cutie I. That's Fifi II's mate that flies nearby.
And we all know our dog, My Friend.
Guess where he got his name?
Too bad she's not been a real big help when naming our new bun in the oven.
She absolutely will not hear of giving the new baby a really feminine name, for obvious reasons.
(jealousy)
Which is fine since super feminine doesn't suit us anyway.
But we also don't want to go with a trend of girls with boy names.
So that only leaves us with NO choices.
Or very few.
We do have a couple of contenders.
Any name ideas?
Lemme hear 'em.
That's my girl!! I love the picture of the animal killing another animal with it raining. That is very good. But I REALLY love mama before and after Virginia. Now that is totally hilareous. What does Charley think you should name little Lucille?
ReplyDeleteShe really doesn't. A few random ones. Monty was the most recent. Which is kinda neither girl nor boy. But no.
ReplyDeleteOH WOW... THat is a VERY nice drawing of before and after Momma. Hahahahah!!! And all the little Charley-isms and pics. Just unbelievable. She is a unique kid, I'm telling ya. She's different. Her and Cogeian are the two funniest, most unique kids I have ever met. Thanks for sharing this stuff. Please post more like this.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I have names, but obviously you have not truly perused, combed, and tested the comprehensive list I sent you and Ma the other day. I think you should review this list again. There are some real goodies in there. I don't give this list to just anyone.
You could name her Virginia....since maybe you won't be there forever...Of course, I prefer the name Georgia, but Virginia would be more significant for ya'll. I have a long list of names I like, but not too sure about girly and non-girly. You are always sooooo good at this - I am sure you will decide on the most perfect name!
ReplyDeleteI too LOVE the pics, especially of you before and after, so funny!!! Also, love her bed with all those animals. WOW!!!
When you said Virginia I thought, hmmm, which is kind of a big deal for me. Rarely do names make me same hmmm. But I've tossed it out already. No offense. Thanks anyway. And YES I LOVE the name Georgia but then there's that unfortunate thing about George Burns...he was so famous he made Georgia Burns an impossibility.
DeletePhyllis I like Georgia also. I even like Georgie but changed my mind when I put her last name with it. Georgie Burns??? LOL
ReplyDeleteLOVE Georgie, but won't work.

Thanks TINA! I feel so flattered you'd share your list. I know some guard their name list fiercely. I am going to think on these.
DeleteGreat pics. Great post. Sweet girl. Here is my list

Britt
Jaime
Rylie
Ricci
Abby
Ronni
Lily
Baylle
Dusty
Thanks Janice. These are good names. I actually love the name Ricci...is that Ricky? I have never seen it spelled this way. But I wouldn't use it since I'd feel like I might be taking that privileged from my cousins. Their Dad, my Uncle Ricky, died recently. Of course I have NO idea if they would use this name but it just wouldn't be right to take it before they could decide.
DeleteDid you know that my middle name is Britt? You must have right? This is not a common name.
Yes, I did know your middle name is Britt and I like it. I also like Tina's choice - Sydney. I am sure you, Chuck and Charley will come up with the perfect name. This was a fun little exercise. Thanks for letting us participate. I hope you are doing well.
DeleteI wanted to add that I also love Bella....I know it is kind of girly, but it sounds good with Burns (to me).
ReplyDeleteI like Bella also and it does sound good with Burns.
ReplyDeleteHey Hayley! I have enjoyed reading your blog. You are a great writer! Charley is such a cute little girl. Tell Chuck I said Hey! I thought I would respond because I love family names and names that you don't hear all the time and I just saw a shirt for a girl on one of the facebook auctions that I follow, Hailey Ruth, and it was monogrammed Maybree and I thought of you and remembered you were expecting and what a cute name that is. I hope it is going well and you are feeling well. Lauren Grigsby Weathers
ReplyDeleteI like Sadie. It was my choice for what to name Kate, but at the time Kenny preferred Kate. He likes it now and wishes we might have used it!
ReplyDeleteOthers that would be good "sib-sets" with the name Charley-
Samantha, Sam, Sammie
Lydia or Lyda (lie-da)
Liza (obviously I like this one and we get compliments on her name)
Dylan
Linden
Scout (like from To Kill a Mockingbird)
Amelia/Millie
Sloane
Wrenn
I could go on... I'm obsessed with baby girl names. We ended up going with Kate and Liza because they were family names though. That was important to my husband. Good luck Hayley!
Thanks Lori! I appreciate these suggestions!
