We've been issued what the Sheriff's Department likes to call a
MANDATORY EVACUATION
So here we are....
Inland
Charley's in hotel hog heaven.
Chuck's ready for the Alabama game...
We finally got My Friend to settle in and stop jumping from bed to bed.
And I've got HIGH SPEED internet!!!
So things are pretty good in light of the impending hurricane.
So, we got an automated call from the Sheriff's Department stating that those living in low lying areas must evacuate. Not really knowing if Gwynn's ISLAND is technically considered low lying, (even though we also are required to carry MANDATORY flood insurance) I called the Sheriff's Department directly. He said that not only does Gwynn's Island usually flood, they'll be shutting down the bridge when the wind picks up to 50 mph.
STUCK on an ISLAND in the middle of a HURRICANE while PREGNANT??
No thank you.
Stay safe everybody!!
Oh and what's a little weird is that this is the same hotel we were at during Hurricane Irene last year. And what's really, really, really, weird is that we think this is also the same room.
Yeah. Weridsville City.

Stay safe Hayley! (You're right, this feels like a repeat of last year doesn't it? Although this year I'll actually have people around besides my brother and myself, haha)
ReplyDeleteAccording to reports, it's either now taking a direct hit on either southern or central NJ, right where I am. Oh boy! ;)
Be safe Katie! Don't hesitate to leave if you need to. Better safe than sorry.
DeleteI already did. Drove an hour west to my parents house. Time to hunker down y'all! ;) I guess you guys are also having a fun Hurricane party huh?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad y'all went to the hotel and that you're all safe. Thank the Lord.
