After Irene

After weathering the storm, we decided to drive out to Mathews County
to see if our almost house was still standing.
It was.
Hallelujah
Though, we don't have power yet.
And that'd be ok, except the well water runs with a pump....
that requires electricity.
So, no electricity, no water.
Hotel life will continue for a couple more days.
But God willing,
we'll get our nest made soon.
I'd love to hear from all of you that were in the storm's path!

  2. we had lots of rain and street flooding and some low areas had flooded homes, but this was not associated at all with Irene. By the time it started raining in Winter Haven Irene was already in to VA. So we had a terrible no name rain/wind/lightening/thunder storm. Our roof leaked in 4 places :( but we are ok:) and that's what matters most!
Where in VA are you? Can't wait for a virtual tour of your new home and yard....We are hoping to come and visit family in VA soon maybe Nov. or Dec. :) I sure do miss it up there!! send me lots of pictures of VA :)

  6. Glad you guys are A ok. That looks like such a cute house! Can't wait to read about your adventures in Virginia!

We had a lot (A LOT) of flooding. It's simply awful in some areas of NJ and NY. I think the President will be touring some NJ towns soon. Luckily, my area (and my love ones) are all okay. We just got power and internet back a couple of days ago. YAY! :)
