Happy Birthday to Chuck

Chuck's birthday came at a time when the dining room was in the living room and the rest of the house was in boxes in the dining room. So, we did the best we could. I said before, fabric makes a world of difference. Also, so do giant Jackson Pollock type art canvases.

A tip: Cram everything you got into one corner of the

house and it will look like a lot and is festive.

I mean who are we kidding? At THIRTY NINE!!! Chuck's just

grateful someone still cares enough to go to the trouble.

No, no, no, not really. He knows as long as we have little ones, we'll be celebrating his birthday the same way we celebrate theirs. Maybe with a less mystery but with all the Chinese food and cookie cake a man (and his wife) could ask for.

It seems that 3 candle's been used, 1 or 3 times.

Somebody call the fire department.

Chucks so much (7 months) older than me. I don't understand all this candle fire.

Lord help us all.

He looks good in candlelight.

Happy Birthday to you, oh sweet, 39 year old, man of mine.

Girls

When Chuck goes out of town I try to do things that he doesn't love to do...

like take the girls out to eat.

And look around in the few stores in our tiny little town.

This time I photographed the oddities to share with my mom and sister.

When Chuck is traveling to far away places like Germany, I obsessively check on his flight status...

Again, and again, and again...

And I pray a lot and keep a busy schedule.

I step it up a notch when Chuck is out of town because I know the parenting is all up to me.

I'm so grateful for him and all he does. When Chuck is out of town, I love the time Charley gets to sleep in the bed with me and how I use it as an excuse to go to bed at 8:30 almost every night and I even love how I feel the need to plan out each evening, but I don't like how there isn't any comic relief walking in the door around 6:00 p.m. I'm always on my knees grateful when I see his illustrated plane (in my phone app) landing and then I force myself to visualize him walking in the door.
